This kit contains everything botanists and beginners alike need to start pressing flowers:
- 1 x Birch plywood flower press
- 4 x Blotting Paper sheets
- Unbleached cotton dust bag - perfect for transporting your flowers safely
- Herbarium notebook - for collecting plants or notes
- Recycled cardboard cut to the size you need it
- Stainless steel parts, to prevent rusting
- Flower sticker
I wanted to make a flower press that was both fun to use and look at, and worked really hard to source local and eco-friendly materials to make it possible.
All flower presses are laser cut by an independent London studio and then sanded, dyed, protected by a shiny top coat and assembled by me. All cardboard and blotting paper is hand cut to size.
Due to the differences in wood grain and being handmade, all Happy Flower Presses are unique in their own way. I hope you love them as much as I do.
Why press flowers / what is a flower press?
Pressing flowers and leaves is a practice that dates back to ancient times! It’s the most simple and effective way of preserving botanical specimens and can be used for scientific or aesthetic purposes such as:
